Group Workouts/Runs



SUNDAYs 8am @ various locations – FREE

Run Ann Arbor organizes group runs from AARC every Tuesday at 6pm and every Saturday @ 7am from AARC Kerrytown (200 N. Fourth, Ann Arbor, MI 48104), and every Sunday @ 8am (earlier times in the summer) @ various Ann Arbor parks and north campus in the winter.

Tuesdays group workouts are typically hill and track workouts that last for about an hour total. Run Ann Arbor “contracts” Parker Performance to lead the Tuesday night workouts and provide an added value of  providing a certified coach each Tuesday night. There is a $5 drop in fee for non-members.

Saturday group runs are short or longer runs with marked courses and water stations. We have runners running distances from 2-miles to 20+ miles, so you can run whatever distance works with your training. At the beginning of the run, runners line up according to their pace they will be running. Pace groups are sub-8:00/mile (yellow), 8:00-9:00/mile (red), 9:00-10:00/mile (green), 10:00-11:00/mile (blue), 11:00-12:00/mile (purple), and 12:00+/mile (orange). Coach Gina leads out the Saturday group run and is available before and after the run for experienced coaching questions and advice. There is a $5 drop in fee for non-Run Ann Arbor members.

Sunday group runs are FREE and usually meet at Gallup Park at 8am. In the hotter summer months the group will meet earlier to avoid the heat of the day. This group run is open to one and all and we offer a variety of paces and distances. There are no official water stations.  Occasionally Gina will provide printed directions for the various courses. These are casual social group runs and some of the runners meet after the run for coffee and/or breakfast. (In the winter months the group may meet in North Campus to avoid the ice and snowy streets & sidewalks). It is best to get on the Sunday Runners email list to keep updated on their meet locations.
